Soph can always be relied upon to lead with enthusiasm, bringing energy, empathy and a sense of fun to each singing session! “I want everyone feel welcomed, included and uplifted. Although singing is the vehicle, the real outcome is the way it helps us to feel, the benefits to our health and the sense of community and belonging that it creates. And always with a lot of laughs along the way!”

In August 2022 we held our first fabulous Summer Special Event - nearly 60 of us, aged from 18 to 80+ years old, gathered in Barkham Village Hall to enjoy an utterly joyous evening of singing and socialising together! It was to become the first of many. We now hold a Big Special event every Summer and every Christmas, with around 120 singers, lots of tasty refreshments, time to socialise and always raising funds for our two favourite fantastic local charities.

Summer Special 2023 - over 100 of us gathered in Barkham, raising the roof and raising over £300 for First Days Children’s Charity! Fabulous food, drinks and fun!

Our Christmas Special 2022 - nearly 80 of us donned our best Christmas jumpers, headgear and sparkles for an incredibly fun evening of singing all our favourite Christmas hits, with added mulled wine, mince pies and other festive goodies! It was a riot of singing, laughter and jingle bells all the way, raising £720 for First Days Children’s Charity.

First Days is our chosen charity for fundraising at our Christmas Special events. To date we have raised nearly £2500 for this incredible charity, which works tirelessly to support families with children living in poverty in the local area. One of our first evening SfyS sessions in Autumn 2019. We meet every Thursday evening at Gorse Ride Infant School, Finchampstead.

During the first Covid lockdown in Spring/Summer 2020 Soph created a SfyS Virtual Singalong Group to keep people’s spirits up with singing. It was available free on Facebook; in fact it’s still there if you want to have a peak!
